Name: Lara Lill Organisation: ASA Position: Head of Health and Participation Lara has been involved in sport all her life, from an early age she learnt to swim and went on to compete locally, regionally and nationally. As well as swimming, Lara was also a keen slalom canoeist, runner and triathlete. Although she doesn't compete now, she still loves sport and partakes in all sorts including tap dancing, hip hop and of course swimming! Lara trained as a secondary school PE teacher at Liverpool, she taught for a while in the North East before moving to pursue her passion in swimming. She was appointed to the ASA in 1998 and has enjoyed a successful 13 years in roles ranging from developing new partnerships, working with clubs, and more recently, the national role of Head of Health and Participation. This has been a challenging but exciting position, finding new partnerships particularly within the health agenda. Lara's recent appointment to the European Women and Sport steering group will have significant relevance to the work she does within sport around getting more females to participate.
